The coorperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and Galaxy Racer have a common goal to promote and develop Thailand’s esports competitiveness to grow to the international level. It also lays the foundation for the esports industry as a Soft Power, driving the economy and stimulating the tourism sector in accordance with the government’s policy to promote official esports competition since the end of 2021, along with presenting various cultures and identities of Thailand to the eyes of audiences around the world through the global competition arena. This is in line with DEPA’s forecast that reveals the expansion of the gaming industry continues to grow by more than 35% in 2020, with a value of 34,316 million baht and has a tendency to grow higher in line with the expanding ecosystem around the world.
GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Hat Yai Thailand 2022 will feature 8 participating teams and top teams from around the world. There will also be mini-concerts from leading artists such as Polycat and KIKI that will be joining to make the competition more colorful.

As a representative of the government sector, I am very pleased that the organizer of a world-class esports event, Galaxy Racer, focuses on Thailand and see Thailand as an esports Hub of the region, as well as an event format that combines and presents culture tourist attraction to stimulate the economy that is starting to recover by promoting and broadcasting to audiences all over the world through various online channels. It will be another important strategy to attract more tourists who are the new generation to come to Thailand.”
